One of the primary responsibilities of the Property Tax Division is to ensure taxpayers are receiving all of the Property Tax deductions for which they are eligible and then factoring this information into the calculation of property taxes.

Homestead Deduction application and removal
Are you currently receiving the Homestead Deduction on your primary residence? The Homestead Deduction can significantly reduce your property taxes. If you are not currently receiving the Homestead Deduction, then click the Homestead Deduction link below to submit an online application.

Have you moved from a property that you were previously receiving the Homestead Deduction on? If so, you must notify the Auditor's office that your previous property is no longer being used as your Homestead. Please complete the Change of Use on Property Receiving the Homestead Deduction form by clicking the link below. Upon completing and submitting the form, you will receive a confirmation email that your form has been successfully submitted. If you would rather complete the form by hand, you can print and return the form to the Auditor's office by email, fax, standard mail, or in person.
Mortgage Deduction application and removal-REPEALED for January 1, 2023 assessment date

If you have paid off the Mortgage, Installment Loan, or Home Equity Line of Credit for the property that you were receiving the Mortgage Deduction on you are no longer eligible for the Mortgage Deduction on that property. Per IC 6-1.1-12-17.8(b), taxpayers shall notify the County Auditor if they no longer are eligible for a deduction. Please click the link below to notify our office to remove the Mortgage Deduction. Please complete all fields containing a red asterisk (*), any required fields incompletely or incorrectly filled will turn pink when the Submit button is hit. Additionally, if you scroll to the top of the form, it will tell you whether the form has been successfully submitted. Upon successful completion, you will receive an email confirmation.
